Yuri kof 13 series#
In only two games of the series (three if counting the '98 game ), the team was lead by non-founders, being them Kasumi Todoh (in KOF '96) and Chizuru Kagura (in KOF '97 and KOF '98 games), and only during the Orochi Saga. In most of the formations, King or Mai (the founders of the team, along with Yuri) shares the leadership, regardless of both being on the same team or not, and in all formations, one or more members of the first formation appears in this team.

The King of Fighters XIII is the only mainline game after the Orochi Saga with its classic formation. Originally, most of its members are locals, residing and/or had multiple crisis involvements at South Town, including those who are associate to the town's local fighters (such as May Lee Jinju being associated to Kim Kaphwan), until The King of Fighters '97, it introduces a member who has nothing with the town nor had past associate its locals completely, such as Chizuru Kagura, and later Hinako Shijou. This is also the team with the most formation changes, starting with The King of Fighters '96. In the first games of the series, the group consisted of King, Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki (the bartender and the Kyokugenryu student coming from Art of Fighting series and the kunoichi from Fatal Fury series. As the name implies, this team consists of any female character (or heroines), either from the own series and/or other SNK franchises (particularly from the shared universe games such as Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting).
